If I have a chance to meet any celebrity, I would use this chance to meet the British actor, Benedict Cumberbatch.
Like most people, I know him from the BBC TV series, Sherlock. In this series, he plays the main role, the well-known detective, Sherlock Holmes. Distinguished from other countless recreations of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s original story, Sherlock talks about Sherlock and his friend John Watson in a setting of modern London. Although the TV series only contains about 10 episodes, I have found it is so fascinating and delicate that I have watched each episode so many times since being introduced to this great actor, Benedict Cumberbatch.
Benedict Cumberbatch was born in 1976 and is 39 years old. Being in middle age and not having a stunning appearance, he is not a typical idol that teenage girls scream at; however, his education and manner make his acting extraordinary. Benedict graduated from the University of Manchester and continued his training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts and played many famous plays on stage besides being on TV and in movie productions, for example: William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet. I feel this experience has made him a great actor and has introduced us his moving acting.
I’d like to meet Benedict Cumberbatch because, firstly, he is one of my favorite actors; also, he was abducted in South Africa in 2005. After being set free, Benedict began to practice the Buddhist philosophy. There is a rumor that he is a supporter of Tibetan independence movement, so as a Chinese person and being familiar with Buddhist culture, I feel it would be really interesting to communicate with my favorite actor on this topic.
